Why was there a sticker on the waste that was out for collection?
Strathcona County waste collectors are using these stickers to help educate residents on why their waste was not collected.
The stickers let residents know the waste was not collected because:
waste was not separated properly
the incorrect cart was placed out for collection
recyclables were not packaged properly
the lid of the cart did not close properly due to overfilling
unacceptable materials were found in the respective carts or blue bags
These stickers will help educate residents on how to sort waste correctly and help ensure that contamination does not occur in the various streams.
Hazardous waste can be dropped off at the Enviroservice events.
Recycling is collected every week on your collection day.
Recycling may be collected at a different time than the organics or waste.
There is no limit to the amount of recyclables you can leave out for collection.
Sort into two groups: paper and containers
Materials for recycling need to be sorted and packaged into two separate groups.
Paper products (fibre)
Place paper products in a reusable bag or container. Residents are encouraged to use a reusable bag or container (such as an old garbage can) for paper recyclables as it is helpful to the recycling collector. You will require a sticker to be placed on the container to indicate that it is recycling. A sticker is enclosed in the the reusable bag at delivery time. Additional stickers are available free of charge at:

Do not waste time bothering whether you ‘love’ your neighbor; act as if you did. As soon as we do this we find one of the great secrets. When you are behaving as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him."

Ja, dat heb ik nou ook...
